Our MissionASAWUSA is officially recognized and registered in terms of the Labour Relations Act, 1995. The South African Government Gazette published a notice confirming ASAWUSA's registration under Government Notice No. 6282 (Gazette No. 52812) on 6 June 2025. This formalizes ASAWUSA's legal standing as a trade union capable of representing members and negotiating on their behalf.
ASAWUSA is affiliated with Public Services International.
ASAWUSA does not only care for you in your working life, but also cares for you and your family in the case of bereavement. ASAWUSA has increased the benefit amount of the free funeral scheme to cover all its members and their dependents provided they pay their membership subscription fee of R120 per month or 1% of their basic salary up to a maximum of R120 as determined from time to time by the NEC.
